Example if Europe becomes divided

Post by ahsowrov408 »

Just to be clear these are estimates based on the fact that things are only getting better economically, technically and socially worldwide. In the worst case, for example if Europe becomes divided and global recessions come, Rotterdam will still grow, just at a slightly slower rate.

One thing is clear if Rotterdam wants to develop as a port and industrial complex, it must not wait passively for what is to come. Or, as the Port Authority mobile number list says in its explorations of the future the Rijnmond must respond proactively to trends and developments. An example of such a future development is the increasing influx of seagoing vessels. Rotterdam has long wanted to build a second Maasvlakte in the sea.

In addition to the environmental issue, the question arises whether the costs of a new piece of land in the sea outweigh the benefits. In their book Future Images, futurologists Robbert and Rudolf Das sketch what shipping will look like in the future. According to the Das brothers, the Netherlands could in any case quickly recoup the investments in a new terminal.
